Our flights originate near the Colorado Springs Airport. Our Balloon systems are mobile command centers allowing Adventures Out West to choose from several launch sites. This helps to ensure your flight will be a success in the event of changing wind patterns. At the highest flight levels, snowcapped mountains, rivers and high plains are visible for over 100 miles in all directions. Floating lower over the foothills and ranch land you will often see deer, coyotes, jack rabbits, and even pronghorn antelope ... animals that are normally too shy to let you approach when you are walking on the ground. Our post-flight celebration features a champagne toast, orange juice, fresh fruit, pastries … presented with glass stemware, table cloth and flowers - all with an incredible view! Each new aeronaut receives a Flight Certificate suitable for framing. We also provide a FLIGHT VIDEO posted at the Adventures Out West channel on YouTube. Show your friends back home how much fun you're having!

Inclusion

Duration

Approx. duration: 3 - 4 hours. Start time: Sunrise - times vary by season. Plan to meet at the appointed time. Please do not be late and there is no need to be early. Your balloon ride will be 45 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes in the air. We always try to fly for 1 hour. Depending on the day we land when it is most prudent for safety reasons. Total activity time is 3-4 hours. This includes transportation time to and from the field, time to assemble and inflate the balloon, flight time, pack up of the balloon, party in the field and transport back to your cars. Most flights are done in 3 hours but can take as long as 4 hours.

Participant restrictions

Minimum age for flight is 6 years. Child pricing available on 5 Star Flights when child is accompanied by their parent. ANYONE WHO IS PREGNANT OR POSSIBLY PREGNANT CANNOT FLY.

Additional information The temperature in the balloon basket is no colder than the temperature on the ground if not warmer. The balloon moves with the wind so there is not any wind chill factor. The balloons are dusty and you will get a little dirty. We recommend you dress in layers as if you were going on a day hike. Sunglasses, a sweatshirt and a baseball hat are sufficient. Some guests say the radiant heat from the burners is warm on their heads. We recommend an athletic shoe, NO SANDALS, HEELS or FLIP FLOPS. Our flights are out on the Plains full of rocks, dirt, cactus, sticks and other things that can hurt your feet. Landings can be rough; we do not recommend this activity for pregnant women or those who are not able to fend for themselves.

Policies Guest must be able to climb into and out of the basket with little assistance. We do have a 4 guest minimum in order to fly. Flights may be cancelled at AOW's discretion as late as the night before if we do not meet our minimum, unfavorable weather conditions, or other unforseen circumstances. Local office contact information will be printed on your voucher to confirm flight start time. If your hotel is not included in the pick up location, a central meeting location will be provided on your confirmation voucher.
