Join us for an insightful 1-day Celtic tour of the historical Boyne Valley which will lead you into one of Ireland’s most ancient regions in all the land! More specifically, a significant portion of this tour takes place in County Meath which is better known as the “Royal County” due to this being the primary location from where the High Kings of Ireland reigned over the country. This tour is jam packed full of stops and visits including the passage tombs at Loughcrew, the Celtic Crosses at Monasterboice, the Hill of Tara and Trim Castle among others.

Hours of operation

Tour departs at 8:00am and returns at approximately 6:00pm. Tours not available December 10-11, 2014 and December 25. Please arrive 10 minutes before departure.

Itinerary

08:00 Depart Dublin outside the old stone church on St Andrews Street. 09:00 Arrive at Loughcrew Passage Tombs where ancient Chieftains are buried. 11:00 Arrive at Trim Castle – the largest Norman castle in Ireland. 12:20 now to the ancient seat of the High Kings of Ireland at The Hill of Tara. 14:15 after driving through Slane village you now visit the mysterious Jumping Church. 14:45 Visit the best preserved Celtic Crosses at Monasterboice. 15:15 the final stop is a walking tour of the medieval town of Drogheda. 18:00 Arrive back in Dublin.

Additional Information This tour includes some hill walking- Be sure to bring warm clothes and wear walking shoes.
