Excursion to Papallacta Hot Springs & SPA

Departure from Quito, during the morning down the road that leads to the Amazon Jungle, enjoy a journey of about an hour and a half following The Cinnamon Route, the same one that the conqueror Francisco de Orellana took in 1542, when he crossed the Andes in the research of spices and gold to finally discover the great Amazon River. Upon your arrival, you´ll discover your spirit of adventure doing a hike through part of the river Loreto - Papallacta by remnants of primary forest and grassland, where you can find different varieties of orchid species and waterfalls along the route, inhaling the crisp and clear air that´s originated in the unique meeting of the winds of the Amazon Rainforest with the rocks, and water from the high mountains.

Also learn with a short talk in the Interpretation Center "Exploratory” about the fauna and flora of the high mountain rainforest. Then you will experience the remarkable beneficial effects of the crystal clear hot springs and will be immersed in the SPA hot spring pools of Termas de Papallacta designed to make a circuit of 6 pools (5 hot spring water and 1 cold), receiving in each one different types of massages (water jets, whirlpool tubs with water and air bubbles). All this can be enjoyed within the Papallacta hot springs resort, where you can get lunch to further complement your visit with the different types of massages, with aromatherapy, body treatments and facials. Return to Quito.
