A Day Away Kayak Tours is pleased to announce the addition of motorized kayaks to their adventure tour activities. Kayaks are a great way to relax and connect with nature. Paddling is a great to get some exercise and explore at you own pace. Now imagine that your kayak has very quiet electric motor that will allow you to glide effortlessly across the water at a leisurely 2 – 4 knots (about as fast as the average paddler can paddle for any extended period of time).

We are delighted with the new technology that makes it all possible using a lightweight, electric trolling motor. “These quiet motors are battery operated, and environmentally sound. Just like paddling, we will not be adding pollution of any kind into the environment”. The motorized kayaks have a convenient tiller style steering right at your fingertips. The only sounds you hear are the calls of ospreys, kingfishers, herons and the gurgling noise of the passing water. Several of the kayaks are able to carry two people in soundless effort.

With our quiet and efficient electric motors, we are able to approach many creatures without disturbing them at all. We can also cover the entire distance without breaking a sweat. Plan to bring a dry bag for you camera and video equipment and you will be delighted with the memories that you will bring home from this relaxing tour.

Policies Any size group may join an established tour. Our tour minimum is 4 participants for the tour to go. Tours with less than 4 reservations will be rescheduled. Please remember is Florida. Rain at your location DOES NOT mean rain at our launch site. A Day Away Inc. reserves the right to make itinerary changes, if necessary, due to water fluctuations, weather conditions, insufficient reservations or acts of God beyond our control. A Day Away Inc. is not responsible for any reservation you fail to keep due to weather conditions, road hazards, vehicle breakdowns, personal agenda, or other unforeseen conditions that may hinder your participation in the tour as scheduled. A Day Away Inc. reserves the right to deny service to any patron deemed to be an unsafe paddler for whatever reason. Your safety and the safety of the group are our highest priority.

Conditions can be extreme here in Florida. It is important to prepare well to gain the best enjoyment from your trip. Your guides are very familiar with your paddling environment and conditions. Feel free to ask any questions you would like in order to understand all you need to be confident about your trip. Please understand, we will not paddle in unsafe conditions including high winds and thunderstorms. Clothes you don’t mind getting a little wet. Swim suit/board shorts, shirt; Cool weather… cover-ups (avoid cotton) Water Shoes or sandals that can be worn in the water Bring an extra change of clothes just in case… Hat & sunglasses are great and SUNSCREEN – very important Camera & Dry bag (optional) Bottled water, Snacks Towel (left in car) Any special personal paddling gear if you like Bug Repellent Lock valuables in your trunk (never had a problem but is more safe)
