First, you will visit the Uros floating island, 4 km from Puno. You can visit its native community that still practice their traditional way of life, living by fishing. The original inhabitants of these floating islands are said to descend from one of the most ancient peoples of the Americas. Their dwellings made of totora reed, are built on the surface of Titicaca Lake. Then, onto Taquile Island. Time seems to have stopped because the indigenous community that lives here - about 350 families - still maintains traditions of the fourteenth century. People are extremely gentle and use traditional clothing. Taquile offers a magnificent view of the lake where you can see the impressive glaciers of the Cordillera Real (mountain range). At the end of the day, return by boat to Puno.
