China Central Television Headquarters is a 234 meters (768 feet) tall skyscraper in Beijing Central Business District. The building was designed by Arup, the firm who also worked on other important projects like the Sydney Opera House and the Beijing National Stadium. The architects in charge for the building were Rem Koolhaas and Ole Scheeren from The Office for Metropolitan Architecture.

Work started in September 2004. At first there were two L shaped buildings, joined together on December 26, 2007 to form one impressive structure. This linking level has 4 meters wide glass floors allowing visitors to peer down to a 162 meters drop below their feet.

The total cost was estimated at €600 million ($750 million). It was supposed to be completed in 2008, but because of the opposition against the costs. it was delayed until 2009.

Today it's the headquarters for China Central Television and it employs 10,000 people.
