The idea of the miniature park belongs to Ivo Rambaldi, who, after visiting Switzerland Miniature Park wanted to create a miniature park of Italy, to overcome the Swiss one.
Italia in Miniatura was opened on the 4th of July, 1970, after three years of studying and measurements of the real monuments that were to be reproduced. The park has an area of 20,000 square meters, displaying 50 miniatures, from mountains and lakes, to famous squares and important monuments. The small replicas are made from foam resin, a resistant material.
The park is located on the Adriatic Riviera, within easy reach from all resorts.
