General

Although many questions regarding the circumstances of her death still remain unanswered, the official cause cause of Monroe's death was classified by Dr. Thomas Noguchi was recorded as an accidental overdose of barbiturates, most probably suicide. But because of the lack of evidence, the possibility of homicide is not out of the question. Some theories involve John and Robert Kennedy with her death, as rumors have existed since the 60s about an affair she could have had with John or Robert Kennedy, or both. CIA or mafia complicity are neither out of the question.

Her final public appearance was at Dodger Stadium for a Muscular Dystrophy benefit on June 1, 1962. Only two months later she was found dead by her housekeeper in her bedroom in her recently purchased Brentwood home in California.

She was buried at Westwood Memorial Park Chapel. Her funeral was arranged by her ex-husband Joe DiMaggio who claimed her body. For the next 20 years, he had a half-dozen red roses delivered to her grave three times a week.

The sex-symbol of the Century, one of the most iconic figures of the 20Th century, Marilyn Monroe's grave can be visited at Westwood Memorial Park. Her marble crypt is approximately 150 yds. after the entrance to the park and turning left. The red lipstick stains on the crypt make it impossible to miss.
