Ponte Vecchio al tramonto

A Medieval bridge over the Arno River, in Florence, Italy, noted for still having shops built along it, as was once common.

It is the only Florentine bridge to survive WW2. The Ponte Vecchio (literally "old bridge") is lined with shops, traditionally mostly jewellers, art dealers and souvenir sellers since the days of the Medici. Vasari's elevated walkway crosses the Arno over the Ponte Vecchio, connecting the Uffizi to the old Medici palace.
