The Kingdom of Norway is situated in Northern Europe, between the Atlantic and Arctic Ocean. It offers an impressive scenery, dominated by mountains and plateaus. The most spectacular miracle of nature takes place here, close to the North Pole- the aurora borealis. The aurora borealis most often occurs from September to October and from March to April. Auroras can be spotted throughout the world. It is most visible closer to the poles due to the longer periods of darkness and the magnetic field. The phenomenon of aurora is actually an interaction between the Earth's magnetic field and solar wind. But even now, when the mistery has been elucidated, many people still believe, or want to believe that it is manifestation of forces beyond the capacity of our understanding.
