Installed in a roundabout in Canary Warf, at the junction between Westferry Road and Marsh Wall, this traffic light is for real, no photo-manipulation involved.
The piece of art, designed in 1998 by the french Pierre Vivant was originally meant to change its lights based on the Stock Exchange's trends, but the money limitations kicked in and stopped the project from evolving further.
At 8m tall, the 75 sets of lights do confuse some of the non-local drivers who mistake them for real traffic signals, but the artwork is a favourite with the tourists and locals alike.
