Christopher Columbus supposedly visited the island in 1494, on his second expedition. The island is uninhabited, but tourists are drawn here by the pristine beaches, calm waters and the great scuba diving.

The island is only 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) long and 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) wide, but it's covered with the most beautiful beaches, and its waters, with living coral reefs are the main attraction.
