A group of two islands, off the northern coast of Honduras, measuring only two square kilometers. They were declared a marine reserve and the coral reef is maintained in great shape. It is part of Meso-American Barrier Reef, the world's second largest coral reef. Diving in these waters is spectacular, and there are many companies offering diving packages.
You can reach the islands from the mainland, from La Ceiba or Trujillo. You can even take one day trips, as they are very close and the accommodation options are more varied on the mainland.
The beaches on Cayos Cochinos are white and surrounded by azure waters, and less crowded than any beach on the mainland.
