Named after the Miskito Indian tribe, whose relics have been found here, this island measures only 50 hectares and it resembles a green gumdrop. Moskito island has only a small resort and one restaurant, but not for long. Being situated right next to Necker Island, owned by Sir Richard Branson, he bought Moskito in 2007 and plans to turn it into the most environmentally-friendly resort in the world.
