Seychelles is an archipelago of 115 pure islands scattered in the blue waters of the Indian Ocean. The authenticity and the natural environment of these islands, make it a perfect setting for those who are in the look for a calm and quiet place. One of the main attractions are the divine white beaches, surrounded by the impressive mountains and peaks. They are described as being the most beautiful beaches in the world. The most looked for beaches are those belonging to the main three islands: Mahe, Praslin and La Digue, but you will not be dissapointed if you decide to try other sandy beaches on more retreated islands.
Has it ever crossed your mind to try some exciting water sports like scuba diving, windsurfing or just observe the underwater attractions by snorkeling? The hidden bays, the sparkling water, the coral reefs and the tropical fishes make Seychelles the perfect place for these activities.
The Seychelles archipelago is home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites:
- Aldabra, which is the world's largest coral island, consisting of a reef surrounding a lagoon
- Vallée-de-Mai on Praslin, the only place in the world where you can see the rare black parrot and the biggest coconut you've ever seen- the Coco de Mer (sea coconut). This fruit has a diameter of 50 cm, weights 15-30 kg and has the largest seed. It requires 6-7 years to mature.
The Seychelles rang among the purest destinations in the world, living up to the country's slogan: "Seychelles...as pure as it gets".
