Look forward to...

Experiencing the exotic palaces and chaotic souks of Muscat. Bartering and drinking in the authentic Arabian atmosphere.

Venturing into the Al Hajar Mountain range, Oman’s own ‘Grand Canyon’, and wandering through beautiful ancient terraces, abandoned villages and beehive tombs.

Getting your adrenaline fix dune bashing on the mystical Wahiba Sands and meeting the desert Bedouin and their camels.

Tucking into a delicious star-lit 3-course meal and listening to the silence of the desert at night, before your luxury camp disappears (magic-carpet style) leaving no trace next day.

Heading from desert to coast: stop for a swim at a breathtaking Wadi then head for a beautiful beach to watch green back turtles making their first dash to sea.

Dreaming of deep desert adventures? Head to Arabia, for our brand new, hot-off-the-press Omani escapade. A little bit of everything is included: bartering in the bustling souks of Muscat, exploring the ancient forts and tombs of Omani's own Grand Canyon, and crossing the Wahabi Sands Desert.

Stay in your own secluded luxury tents set up just for you, wherever you like. Top this off with a flop on the coast, where you can even help baby green turtles take their first swim…all in just 7 days. We like to think it's the Ultimate Arabian Experience.

camel

old-fashioned muscat

Chaotic souks, crumbling historical districts and majestic Sultan's palaces with stunning sea views: Muscat is a jumble of delights. The sweet smell of apple-flavoured sheesha wafts through ancient alleyways, where you can bag a few bargains in markets overflowing with beautiful handicrafts. We recommend the silk rugs and leather bags (as well as a chunk of sugary halva to pep you up in the heat). Thankfully this exotic city has clung on to its authentic charm and it still maintains its off-the-beaten-track edge - the perfect place to experience some authentic Arabian allure.

desert safari

mountain treasures

Next, hit the dizzy heights of the Al Hajar Mountain range, the tallest in eastern Arabia, and walk along the unmissable Sayq plateau. Don't forget your camera, as the views here won't differ much from those of the vultures and eagles circling above. It's 10,000 feet up out of the desert to Oman's 'Grand Canyon' rim (which, thankfully, you'll reach in a 4WD) where you'll see ancient terraces and an abandoned village perch beneath towering cliffs. While here don't miss the intriguing, and aptly named, beehive tombs at Bat. The resting place of centuries of Sultans (and luckily no bees) these tombs are guarded by small flocks of goats diligently herded by mountain tribesmen.

dune bashing and desert camping

Back down to earth, hit the mystical dunes of the Wahiba Sands to meet the Bedouin and their camel herds. Master the wheel with expert help for some adrenalin-pumping dune bashing of your own, or swap 4 wheels for 4 legs and take a camel ride too. Deep in the desert you'll find your private luxury tented camp waiting: the perfect spot for a stunning dune-top sunset.

wadi bani khalid

the arabian seaside

Sunrise in the desert is unforgettable, so start your day early, before heading to Oman's most loved Wadi for a mid morning swim. From the rustic Wadi Bani Khalid you can watch green back turtles in their natural habitat... If you're lucky you may even see thousands of young turtles hatching in the morning and making the all important first dash for the water. Ahhh.

As we said - we reckon this Muscat, mountain, desert and beach combo is the most incredible way to get under the skin of an awesome country like Oman.
