El Boqueron National Park it’s located on the top of the crater of the San Salvador Volcano. This volcano is composed of 3 peaks, The Jabali which is 1300m asl, the Picacho at 1959m asl and finally the Boqueron peak which is 1887m asl.

The crater is approximately 450m deep and 5km in diameter, thus the name El Boquerón which means “wide mouth”, the name was appropriately given.
