Bursa, former capital of the Ottoman Empire from 13th century; known for its pretty Islamic monuments, historical bazaars, ski resort on Ulu Mountain (Uludag) and delicious traditional cuisine. We begin our tour with a leisurely climb to Uludag (legendary Mt. Olympos) by cable car for a panoramic view of the town and the surrounding forests. Then we visit the Green Mosque and the neighboring Green Mausoleum, both renowned for their green tile decorations. Here, we taste the famous Iskender (literally Alexander) Kebap for our lunch.

Afterwards, we visit the Great Mosque, which is the town’s symbol, and the Koza Han (literally Cocoon Bazaar) which for centuries has been the center of Bursa’s flourishing silk trade. As Turkey’s center of historical and current silk production, Bursa has been the home for skilled artisans who produce kaftans, pillows, embroidery and other silk products.

At the end of this beautiful day full of sightseeing and fun, we begin our drive back to Istanbul. Arrival will be at early evening. Transfer back to the hotels.
