Cărturești: books, tea, music, finery.

A quiet cup of tea at the mall? That's right! At Cărturești, in Cluj Napoca you can run away from the fever of shopping and escape in this bookstore/music store. The soft music, the aroma of different teas and the huge variety of books frame a cozy place for customers of all ages.

This bookstore has its own tea house. No reservations can be made and smoking is prohibited in this place, because Cărturești wants to assure that all its customers have a seat if they want to skim through a book and that they can experience this in a pleasant atmosphere and a fresh air. All the teas served by this tea house are being prepared from 100% natural products. The variety of teas is very rich and the menu looks more like a novel than a tea house list of products.

Cărturești also sells some of the finest teas and tea accessories in town. Cups, mugs, tea pots, infusion vessels, candy sticks, brown crust candies and tea containers make some of the most smart gifts. Also other elegant stationary and fine book accessories can be purchased at Cărturești.

So this is a tea house, a store and a library, a place that will capture all your senses, a bookstore that's so inviting, you will find it hard to resist.

This is actually a bookshop. Very wide variety of teas to choose from. They have a menu almost as thick as a bible.

I disliked

They only serve tea by the pint. If you're not planning to drink and pay for a full teapot, well tough luck. On the expensive side, but since it's in a mall I guess it's not that pricey. I've once bought a cheaper book than the cheapest tea they had. Toilet? If they have one I haven't noticed it. But you can use the mall's toilet if you feel like walking around for 10 minutes.

The tea is really good, and being served in large sizes it will last a lot. Wednesday evenings are a must, they display board games, crayons and watercolors for the clients to play with, and the prices for the tea are significantly lower for those who play.

I disliked

They don't have a toilet indeed, but being in a mall it would be rather weird since the mall has plenty of them. However, reaching the closest ones takes longer than actually using them.
