This is a protected area at altitude, which mainly consists of paramos. Trees and bushes such as romillero mortino, chuquiraguas, pampass grass and occasionally quishuares, pumamaquis, and piquiles, species native to the Andes, grow on this terrain. The most outstanding fauna is that which is typical of the paramo, most importantly deer, wolves, rabbits and occasionally wild llamas, which can be seen strolling through the area, whose population numbers have been increased through specific conservation projects realized in the sector.

Policies Guest is required to call at least 72 hours ahead of the tour date to confirm the reservation and to provide height information. *Chimborazo is climbable year round however, the best climbing months are June and July and December through early January. February through May is known for bad weather, especially in the month of April. Guests are responsible for their own transportation to and from the departure location. You must schedule your transfer. Tours may be cancelled if the weather makes for dangerous riding conditions. If we are unable to reschedule the tour, we will issue a full credit or refund. Complete information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, will be included on your Confirmation Voucher.
