The quaint town of Franklin, Tennessee hearkens back to a time before the harrowing fight between the Union and Confederate armies. Hearing the unique stories of heroism at the Carter House, Lotz House, and Carnton Plantation, you'll soon appreciate the efforts of everyone who lived here in 1864, elite society or immigrant. Understand the challenge of what it took to survive the fighting, bury the 9,500 dead, and reconstruct citizens' homes and some semblance of their lives before the Battle. See the bullet-riddled walls and blood-stained floors of mansions-turned-field hospitals. Then, when you break for lunch on your own, what you have learned from youru passionate tour guides will give you a better appreciation for what happened here 150 years ago.
