Pamukkale Tour from Izmir Airport

Upon our arrival to “Pamukkale Village”, brilliantly white dramatic travertine appear in the distance which is visually quite stunning. Firstly we have our lunch at a local restaurant. Then we visit Hierapolis, an example of an ancient Greco Roman Spa City from the late 2nd Century AD. We have a look at its ruins like the great necropolis (or ancient graveyard) which is the evidence that here was a place where many sick people came in search of a cure, but died anyway. Then we begin our approach to the white calcium ponds filled with heavily mineralized therapeutic warm water flowing from the hot springs around. We take off our shoes and have an interesting walk in these natural pools for a while. We also go to the public Antique (or Cleopatra’s) hot spring pool which is the only one in the world where one can swim on fluted drums of fallen marble columns from the nearby ancient site. The pool is constantly refreshed by an inflow of hot calcium-laden mineral water. After the tour transfer back to the airport.

Participant restrictions

Guests must be able to walk approximately 0.5 miles over travertine without shoes. Guests should watch their step at all times in order to avoid injuries because the waterfalls can be slippy. Due to the nature of this tour, it is recommended for guests with walkers or wheelchairs walk only till waterfalls.

Additional Information Comfortable shoes, a hat and plenty of sunscreen are recommended as shade is limited. Bring swimwear for walking in the water (optional).

Policies *Important note: The latest arrival time in the morning to Izmir airport must not be later than 8:00am. Travelers may need to wait maximum 1 hour at the airport since the tour bus comes from Kusadasi. After the tour, the departure time of the flight from the Izmir Airport must not be earlier than 9:00pm. The order of the tour itinerary may vary in order to avoid congestion. 2 passenger minimum required to operate tour.
