From £2,199 pp in Winter; From £1,699 pp in Summer
When to go
Winter: March - May; Summer: May - September
Look forward to...
Staying in a traditional Norwegian lodge (with only 8 cosy bedrooms) set directly above a magnificent fjord.
Eating under the beams of the stylish dining room and kicking back in the lounge with its open fire and panoramic windows.
Skiing summit to sea, snow shoeing across frosted forests and cross-country skiing on the surrounding islands.
Watching the Northern Lights swirl around the clear Norwegian sky while you soak in a hot tub with a glass of wine.
Making friends with the reindeers of the Sami people.
Enjoying the summer fishing the fjords, island hopping by kayak and eating barbecues under a midnight sun.
Do you dream of skiing untouched powder with adrenalin pumping through your veins as you make the first tracks of the day? And does the idea of catching your own salmon and grilling its succulent meat make your mouth water? Well, we’ve got just the trip you’re looking for.
the lyngen alps
When it comes to the perfect adventure week away, the Lyngen Alps in Northern Norway harbour amazing remote ski terrain as well as some top notch fishing in the surrounding fjords.
Deep within the Arctic Circle and overlooking the beautiful Lyngen mountains and fjords, Lyngen Lodge is a brand new exclusive luxury lodge which makes the perfect base for what in our eyes may be just about the best adventure break we’ve ever seen.
a winter wonderland: off-piste bliss
In winter, the Lyngen Alps provide a flawless ski area just waiting to be conquered. From the Lodge, a specially designed state-of-the-art 35ft powerboat will transport you to your chosen mountain for the day. Upon reaching the summit on skins, relax over lunch and enjoy the spectacular views, before venturing down the long ski descents and ending up back on the beach to meet the boat. And if all you want now is a hearty feast, then your wish is granted as you will be transported back to the Lodge for evening relaxation and a three course meal. Round off the day by a roaring log fire or watch the phenomenal Northern Lights from an outdoor hot tub.
a summer playground: fish and fjords
Summer in Lyngen Lodge is equally electrifying. In May the snow starts to melt and the midnight sun appears. It is a wild adventure playground during the summer months, where you can fish for your own salmon and have it grilled for dinner, canoe through fjords and glacial waters, and watch enormous waterfalls tumble down craggy rocks.
If bird watching sounds a bit staid to you, think again as eagles swoop down between the vertical cliffs of the fjords and grab unsuspecting fish out of the water. Not your average twitcher stuff. So for a week more refreshing than a slap in the face with a cold haddock, head to the untamed wild of Norway's Arctic Circle... we guarantee you'll return home with stories to tell and photos which will truly amaze.
