The first stop on this tour is the town of Tula, an archeological site and the ancient capital city of the Toltecas who are known for their master craftsmanship. We will visit the ball courts, or colonnades, which are believed to be the first in Mexico. Within these ball courts contain fine stone-carved figures and four 15-foot-high atlantes, or stone soldiers. These towering basalt figures resemble totem poles and are the main feature of the site.
