Located in the Bežigrad, the cemetery was designed by the famous Slovenian architect Jože Plecnik. On this tour, you will follow a guide as you learn about the history of this landmark, originally built in 1906 by the Holy Cross Church. See Plecnik's funeral home complex and the graves of several famous Slovenians, located in the old part of the cemetery. The tour also includes the new part of the cemetery, Nove Žale, monumentally designed as a city of the dead by the architect Marko Mušic and opened in 1988.
